Clarinettista e sassofonista statunitense (New Orleans, 6.8.1900 – New York, 17.4.1972).

Negli anni ’50, lavora in Florida, a New York (1954), Boston e Canada. Suona periodicamente a New York sino al 1971.

American clarinetist and saxophonist (New Orleans, 6.8.1900 - New York, 17.4.1972). Of Sicilian origin, he began to study the violin, then the clarinet, and Joseph Taverno in whose orchestra he played for a year and a half. He later replaced Alcide Nuñez in the Papa Laine's Band, then worked with Nick LaRocca, Johnny Stein, the cornetist Johnny De Droit (1916), played in a trio on the Majestic riverboat and directed his orchestra from the 1920s.

Arriving in New York at the end of the decade, he worked with several dance orchestras and a musician in the recording studio for radio and the Columbia label. In 1939 he joined the Ted Lewis Orchestra and remained there until the summer of 1945. He played with Eddie Condon (1946), George Brunis, his orchestra, Muggy Spanier (1947), Miff Mole (Chicago, early 1949 ). In the 1950s, he worked in Florida, New York (1954), Boston and Canada. He performed in 1962 at the Condon club, then at Jimmy Ryan's (1963-69). He periodically plays in New York until 1971.

Tony Parenti is one of the best white musicians in New Orleans: with a fluid and ornate style, it perfectly integrates the polyphony of the first orchestras.
