Trombettista statunitense (New Orleans, Louisiana, 2.8.1896 – Chicago, Illinois, 30.8.1982).

American trumpet player (New Orleans, Louisiana, 2.8.1896 - Chicago, Illinois, 30.8.1982).

He tests the percussion before adopting the trumpet. After receiving the advice of Manuel Perez (1879 - 1946), he plays in the parade bands (Imperial Brass Band) in New Orleans, which he leaves in 1913 for Chicago, then for Detroit and Michigan.

In the early 1920s, he is part of the Carroll Dickerson Orchestra, which plays at the Entertainer 'Café of the Jimmie Noone group, returns to Dickerson for a tour (1924) and has a gig at the Sunset Café, where he will also perform in the orchestra which Louis Armstrong briefly conducts. The following year he was hired by Johnny Dodds, with whom he played regularly, more often in Chicago, until the clarinetist's death in 1940.

From this moment on, he moves away from music a bit and works at the Chicago airport. Yet, he will still be seen at the head of an orchestra in the early 1950s. Trumpeter Don Albert (1908-80) was his nephew and his cousin Barney Bigard.
Although her career took place almost entirely in Chicago, Natty Dominique played only one type of jazz: that of New Orleans, in style close to King Oliver and Freddie Keppard, without having the authority, however, or the quality of style. But he plays the blues with abandon and sensitivity. He often used the mute.
