Clarinettista, sassofonista, trombettista, compositore e direttore d’orchestra statunitense (Lyons, Nebraska, 30.11.1899 – Oscoda, Michigan, giugno 1982).

American clarinetist, saxophonist, trumpeter, composer, and conductor (Lyons, Nebraska, 30.11.1899 - Oscoda, Michigan, June 1982). The son of a singer and an orchestra conductor learned to play the violin and drums at the age of nine. In 1920 he was part of a saxophone orchestra and, in 1923, of the Chicago De Luxe Orchestra.

In 1924, in Chicago, he recorded some songs at Paramount (including at least one with Jelly Roll Morton). At the head of his small group or as a soloist, he also records for Pathé (1925-26), Okeh (1927-28), and Victor (1929). In Detroit in the 1930s, he later settled in Mio (Michigan), where he continued to play until the early 1970s.

An eccentric clarinetist, with often excessive lyricism, in the manner of Ted Lewis, Boyd Senter interprets an exciting repertoire of Blues and jazz, often surrounded by excellent musicians, such as the Dorsey brothers. In his rare trumpet performances, he proves soberer.
